Stain Kitchen Cabinets

Your have bought yourself an unfinished cabinet at dead cheap rate andnow would like to finish the same. After your work is over you may then startto think of staining your cabinet. You may note down the particular type ofwood used in your cabinet and apply the same conditioner for the wood so thatthe cabinet comes out pretty well. The staining assumes importance when manypeople have the solid wood color so as to make their wood choice stick out.

You should therefore start to stain kitchen cabinets when you have fully completed the work on your new cabinetand it is ready for installation. You may also stain your old cabinet in orderto give it that wood coloration of oak, maple or cherry wood, chestnut and manyothers. The idea of staining is that it gives a better appeal to the productwhile at the same time passes on the image of wealth and high standards of theowners.

The first thing to do even after having finished your cabinet is todismantle the same again for the simple reason that you must separate thedoors, the drawers and the hardware so that your stain can be evenly spreadover the surface and the interiors of the cabinet. You then sand them and thenapplying the wood conditioner. After this is done you must make sure that youhave applied two coats of polyurethane.

Then it must be allowed to dry and then you start your next sanding andthis time with a 220 grit sand paper. All the activities must be carried outmeticulously so that there are no large or small smudges, finger prints or scratchesas otherwise it might ruin the whole work. When the job is perfected then onlyyou can be proud of your stain kitchen cabinets.

Your main aim with the work is to make sure that when you stain it goeswell into the grains and the pores of the wood for sustained finish. Althoughthere is little evidence that suggests that staining increases the durabilityof the wood it is always better to choose hardwood while staining.

While staining also make sure that you wear a protective mask over yourface as well as wear gloves as you may need to work for hours where the smellof chemicals may become quite unbearable. The long hours of endurance willsurely show you the best stain kitchen cabinets you have ever seen.
