Painted Kitchen Cabinets

Your kitchen cabinet has become quite dull of late? You think that you don’t have much money at your disposal to purchase a new one? You feel that the old cabinet which had so far given you good service has only a few scratches and no marked damages. Yet when you look at it you feel as if you too feel quite gloomy for the whole day. What is wrong? There is nothing wrong with your cabinet but that it should look like painted kitchen cabinets that glisten.

Your painting work is interesting but if you have only little experience you may hire professional painters then your cabinet would look as good as new.Hence, it would be better if you take the help of one of the painting boys from your local paint shop. Together you can do great work. Also, it is necessary for you to wear protective mask and gloves as the smell of chemicals can create irritation or skin allergies.

Before you start to paint it is necessary for you to first empty all the items from the cabinet one by one and keep them in another room as any paint spill might damage the products. You then start with the cleaning part of the cabinet. This is quite easy as you need to wash it with soap and warm water to remove whatever stain or smudges may be there.

You then have to take the second step of doing the painting, staining or polishing as you prefer. You need to be careful here as some parts are quite delicate like the corner portions and the sides. You must see that the paint does not form smudges on the cabinet counter top. If found then wipe it out immediately and then start to apply the coat on your painted kitchen cabinets.

You may do two or even three coatings on your cabinet to get the required finish. You must note that while staining and even while doing painting with a different color on your old cabinet you need to sand paper the whole cabinet to remove the old paint from it completely. This is especially so if you are using white or grey color paints.

In case of the rustic feel you should choose suitable paint and so is the case with antique cabinets which requires careful finishing such that the cupboard displays an ancient appeal. For this you may have to consult with the counter boys at the paint shops who can provide you with excellent tips. With these suggestions you may have the best painted kitchen cabinets.
